Gites in Brittany

After the concrete hardened off we started looking at the joists and flooring of the upstairs in my parents gite or cottage. The floor needed to be completly replaced as it was just bits and pieces of chestnut laid down any old way. So we started to rip it up.We decided to leave a small section to work off and fit one of the velux windows to give us some light. So the next day we went about fitting the velux, which went in very easy. The refitting of the slates is a little tricky on my Parents gites as they have been laid on the angle to look like diamonds which means a lot more cutting and harder fitting the flashings (what seals the velux to the slates).We now need to decide what we are going to do with the joists
